Why Human Trafficking should be abolished

The world I envision is a world where women and girls are viewed for their great potential and who they choose to be. In magazines and on television, we see the majority of Caucasian women with ideal beauty and less of Polynesian or Haitian women with natural beauty. Thanks to the media, everyday women are objectified.  Whatever happened to inner beauty and inner strength? I am not saying that we should throw away our lipsticks or eyeshadow pallets. I admit that I enjoy watching makeup videos sometimes and makeup is a form of art. What I am saying is that women are not objects. Women and girls are human beings. There has been discourses over racism and/or sexism experienced in the minority communities. The one social justice that I am passionate about is human trafficking that targets women and children.  They are targeted and kidnapped for their bodies while their voices are silenced especially when they are placed in a foreign land. It’s an international issue that affects milli

My photography 2016-2017

Image
Hello everyone! I enjoy taking pictures of the little things that make me happy. All photos belong to me and are taken from my iPhone 6s. This picture is in Federal Triangle, Washington D.C. I enjoyed the lights that remind me of dimmed stars and the night sky seemed brooding. This is lovely to look at. Even though the flowers are artificial, I felt like the flowers are falling onto me.   I love this photo. The ducks seemed to be at ease and the simple colors truly reflect the summer vibes. The shadows make a nice touch.   I like the colorful glass balls hanging in the ceiling.

My first time eating Thai rolled ice cream!

Image
Hello my cupcakes! Recently, I went to a mall and I saw the Thai rolled ice cream stand near the food. I just had to try it because the process of rolling ice cream looks so cool! I ordered strawberry cheesecake ice cream even though I do not usually eat strawberry cheesecake (I prefer pineapple upside down cheesecake from  The Cheesecake Factory ). However, I was not disappointed by the taste. They had a limited list of choices of ice cream including Rocky Road or Salted Caramel flavor. The employees also make bubble teas if you are feeling thirsty. I ordered it with whipped cream, lychees, strawberries, kiwis, one graham cracker, and sprinkles. I loved it. I highly recommend you try this new ice cream trend. I wonder what is the next trend in desserts...Let me know in the comments below any popular places to buy desserts whether it be in New York or California or anywhere!

Summer Vacation in Clearwater Beach, Florida

Image
Hello my cupcakes! This past summer, I went to Florida for a vacation as it was my first time visiting the Sunshine State! Check out the pictures below! I went to Clearwater and St. Petersburg located in Fl where Clearwater won the best beach town award. St. Petersburg downtown has a Vietnamese restaurant decorated with beautiful interior design. I ate Cuban food for the first time in my life. I ordered black beans with rice, fried bananas, and ribs. Also, I visited the museum of renowned artist, Salvador Dal í   in downtown. I did not see the famous painting, "The Persistence of Memory" because it is located in New York museum. I enjoyed the weather and the relaxing atmosphere. As for the souvenirs, I brought a ring that is made out of a seashell and an anklet with silver sea turtles charms. I also brought a postcard and the postcards were cheap! I did not get a chance to try the state pie, Key Lime pie until my second visit to Florida later. However, I checked off my bucke

Almost one year ago, I went to San Francisco, California for vacation!

Image
Hello my cupcakes! This month last year, I went to SF, a famous city in California known for the Golden Gate Bridge and the laid back atmosphere. My first thought after landing in SF, was that boy, it was windy! Based on the popular TV show Full House,  I expected the weather to be warm, but hey I was gullible! We went to a park in Great Meadow where I could see the prominent Golden Gate bridge from afar. I saw Alcatraz Island across the bay. I learned that some prisoners would escape the security and swim across the cold water to the shore. I also saw some boats and some people biking. There was a couple of kids splashing in the water with their parents smiling. The vibes felt relaxing and the people were friendly. I noticed some palm trees and it was lovely to see them because there were no palm trees where I reside back home. The bay was teal blue and my hair was fluttering in the wind. Then I entered the Fisherman's Wharf . Unfortunately, I did not see any seals on this trip.

Reaction to "Globalization: A Necessary Myth?" Article

Hello my cupcakes! Let me know your commentary. Before reading this essay, I highly recommend you read the article "Globalization: A Necessary Myth" by Paul Hirstand Grahame Thompson first. After reading the article " Globalization : A Necessary Myth?" by Paul  Hirst and Grahame Thompson, there were some notions that I agreed or disagreed with. For instance, I disagreed with the assertion that "we live in an era in which the greater part of social life is determined by global processes, in which national cultures, national economies, and national borders are dissolving" (page 71). I don't believe that the national cultures or the national borders are dissolving because they are still preserved alive in the native land. For instance, the native tribes gather annually for a festival to reflect on their heritage and traditions. Moreover, cultures are an essential part of  globalization  because many peoples have established their common identity and lan
